Trade Sales Manager — Interior Designers

Trade Sales Manager — Interior Designers APPLY NOW

Part-time · 20 hours per week, with the potential to become full-time in the future

Silence Please is a New York speaker design studio creating speakers with equal attention to sound and physical form. Our Bowery listening room offers a place to experience the collection through music, design, and conversation.

We’re looking for a Trade Sales Manager to build relationships with interior designers and turn those relationships into project orders and repeat business.

You’ll introduce our speakers to design firms, help them understand how the collection fits into their projects, and guide opportunities from the first presentation through specification, quotation, and purchase.

What you’ll do

  • Identify relevant interior design firms and develop new relationships through direct outreach, introductions, studio visits, and industry events.
  • Present the collection in designers’ studios and host designers and their clients for listening appointments at Silence Please.
  • Identify projects early and understand the space, visual direction, budget, existing equipment, decision-makers, and purchasing timeline.
  • Explain materials, finishes, dimensions, placement considerations, and audio system requirements using confirmed product information.
  • Coordinate technical questions and custom requests with the SP team before committing to feasibility, pricing, or delivery.
  • Prepare accurate quotations, negotiate within agreed terms, follow up consistently, and convert interest into orders.
  • Remain the designer’s commercial point of contact through ordering, fulfilment updates, and aftercare.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, develop repeat accounts, and share feedback that improves our sales materials and processes.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience developing business with interior designers or related design professionals.
  • An understanding of how products move from an initial selection to a specification and an order.
  • Confidence initiating conversations, presenting products, and closing sales.
  • Strong organization and attention to quotations, project details, and follow-up.
  • An interest in music, design, and materials, with a willingness to learn technical products.
  • Relevant experience in furniture, lighting, architectural products, audio, or a similar field.

Established designer relationships are valuable, as is evidence that you can build new ones.

What success looks like

Qualified project opportunities, purchasing designer accounts, sales against agreed goals, repeat orders, and responsive service that earns designers’ trust.
